Robinsons Preservation Ltd has been established over 55 years and has, throughout those years, built up the reputation of being one of the leaders in the field of restoration and preservation. Since 1956, Robinsons have been actively engaged in the restoration of our architectural heritage. These buildings range from terraced houses to historic castles.
Buildings are inspected by fully qualified surveyors to the CSRT standards to provide independent and unbiased reports.
A recent addition to the services is infra-red thermograph. This system has been developed for detecting water ingress and cold bridges in the structures of ecclesiastical and historic buildings. This measures the temperatures of surfaces (i.e. walls / ceilings) and can measure the temperature accurately to a tolerance of 0.1 Degrees Centigrade. Early detection of water ingress can help control Dry Rot or even prevent. Full detailed reports with coloured photography are provided after an inspection.
We offer traditional timber repairs, Dry Rot / Wet Rot treatments, insecticide treatment of timbers affected by Woodworm, Deathwatch Beetle and Weevil. Structural repairs carried out by Robinsons include Timber Framed buildings, Major Structural repairs to Trusses and Floor Beams using traditional methods of repairs. Fully qualified Carpenters and technicians carry out all works and our Staff has the Heritage CSCS cards which are approved by the National Trust and English Heritage.
Robinsons are members of the Property Care Association (Formerly the British Wood Preserving and Damp-Proofing Association) for membership Robinsons has to demonstrate standards, quality, safety and technical competence in the remedial treatment industry. The PCA regularly vet to ensure our high standards of workmanship and financial stability.

Robinsons Preservation was part of the team that won the millennium award by the Chester Civic Trust for Timber frame repairs on the Dixon Alms Houses in Chrisleton.
