Robinsons Preservation Ltd have been established 50 years and have,
throughout those years, built up the reputation of being one of the
leaders in the field of restoration and preservation.
Since 1956, Robinsons have been actively engaged in the restoration of
our architectural heritage. These buildings range from terraced houses
to historic castles.
Buildings are inspected by fully qualified surveyors to provide
independent and unbiased reports. Robinsons has qualified surveyors to
provide expert witness report and legal advice.
We offer traditional timber repairs, Dry Rot / Wet Rot treatments,
insecticide treatment of timbers affected by Woodworm, DeathWatch Beetle
and Weevil. Structural repairs carried out by Robinsons include wall tie
installation, restraint straps and upgrading of timbers. Fully qualified
technicians carry out all works.
One of Robinson's specialities, is the repair and upgrading of timber
beams using Epoxy resin resins. These enable the reconstruction of large
timber without recourse to unsightly steelwork.
A recent addition to the services is infra-red thermograph. This system
has been developed for detecting water ingress and cold bridges in the
structures of ecclesiastical and historic buildings. This measures the
temperatures of surfaces
(i.e. walls / ceilings) and can measure the temperature accurately to a
tolerance of 0.1 Degrees Centigrade. Early detection of water ingress
can help control Dry Rot or even prevent. Full detailed reports with
coloured photography are provided after an inspection.
Robinsons are members of the British Wood Preserving and Damp-Proofing
Association (BWPDA). For membership Robinsons has to demonstrate
standards, quality, safety and technical competence in the remedial
treatment industry. The BWPDA regularly vet to ensure our high standards
of workmanship and financial stability.
All remedial works carried out by Robinsons is guaranteed and in
addition we are able to offer the added benefit of the Guarantee
Protection Trust Ltd "Back-up Guarantee". This ensures the continuity of
your guarantee should we, for any reason cease to be engaged in this
type of work.
The area covered by Robinsons is Nation-wide with recent contracts as
far apart as Glasgow, Exeter, Brecon and Norwich.
